House of Earth Roots

Casa Raíces de Tierra is a home designed for a family of six in a rural setting in Cajamarca, Peru. Conceived under the principles of sustainability and the use of local materials, this two-story house employs the ancestral technique of rammed earth, ensuring excellent thermal efficiency and structural strength.
The design adapts to the topography of the site, integrating indoor and outdoor spaces that encourage coexistence and contact with nature. The layout includes functional areas that respond to the family's needs, incorporating specific spaces for work, education, and recreation. Furthermore, natural lighting and ventilation are prioritized, optimizing thermal comfort without relying on mechanical systems.
